Afghanistan journalism continues to suffer after its deadliest attack – Lynne O’Donnell

For a number of important years my colleague Lynne O’Donnell contributed to the world’s understanding of the long running conflict in Afghanistan in her capacity as the bureau chief of the AP.

Despite having now moved on to new horizons for herself, Lynne continues to share her expert insight and understanding.

And in this article for the Columbia Journalism Review, she has taken the time to write movingly and shine a light on one of the most important unsung heroes of the new start, the Afghan free press:

I encourage any of my friends and colleagues with an interest in Afghanistan and the dangerous risks journalists take to cover the news we consume to check it out.
